The perimenopause and the menopause affects half of the population at some point and the physical and mental effects can impact their working lives too. Even though it is experienced by women, the perimenopause and the menopause can affect men too – family members, friends, colleagues, line managers etc.

Despite this, the perimenopause and the menopause is still a taboo subject. This means that it is largely misunderstood and surrounded by myths and stereotypes, which we will explore. Within the session there will also be a consideration of Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI); having the menopause before the age of 40.

Dr. Theodora Kalentzi is the founder of the Medical Prime clinic in the City of London and leads the Medical Prime team. She is an experienced British Menopause Society (BMS) Accredited Menopause Specialist and a General Practitioner. The BMS is the specialist authority for menopause and post reproductive health in the UK. Theodora holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and an Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care. She has held several senior healthcare management positions, including NHS Medical Director.

Theodora is passionate about quality care, helping people consider a holistic approach to their health, increasing awareness about the perimenopause, the menopause and Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Theodora has a deep interest in women’s health. She is an engaging speaker and often delivers presentations on the subject of the menopause to a wide range of organisations.
