EC BID is proud to be working with charity partner Trees for Cities, Aviva and inspirational artist Jasper Toeli to launch ‘Be the Tree’ – an art installation that invites the public to connect with a city tree. Simply place your face inside the O2 bottle and see your face projected onto a 20-foot tree embellished by artist Ella Schofield Lack through the magical technique of video project mapping. You will then be able to download your image to share a unique digital Christmas card with your friends and family.

Last night we were delighted to host our launch event with special guest Alastair Campbell, political commentator, author and podcaster as our first ‘celebri-tree’.  Alastair also chose “Be the Tree”  tree of the day with his social media followers. EC BID Chief Executive Kate Hart discussed the importance of unique art and festive installations to increase footfall and spend in the City, and emphasised how trees and green spaces in urban settings are becoming more essential for working life. We also heard from Esme Jones, Engagement and Marketing Director at Trees for Cities – the only UK charity working at a national and international scale to improve lives by planting trees in cities – visit their website to make a . With special thanks to Music In Offices Aviva Choir for entertaining us with some festive carols.

‘Be The Tree’ is free and open for all to enjoy on Wednesdays – Saturdays 4pm-8pm until 22nd December located at Aviva Piazza.
