Works to begin on King William Street

From Monday 8 July the City of London Corporation will begin environmental enhancement works on King William Street as part of its Pedestrian Priority Programme. King William Street will be transformed to make the street more accessible and give more space and priority to people walking and wheeling. Changes include wider pavements, new street trees, new places to sit and improved crossings. Work is due to be completed in early 2026. Throughout the construction works, there will be a southbound road closure for all traffic including cycles. The southbound diversion route for people cycling is via Cornhill and Gracechurch Street.
