Private View: Rekindling with Place Art Exhibition

July 18 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

‘Rekindling with Place’ consists of textiles pieces from three bodies of work; ‘An Elemental Rekindling’, ‘A Love Note to Urban Ecologies’, and ‘Flags of Our High Street Treasures’. As well as new work created through workshops with a local primary school. The exhibition offers new possibilities for living and working together in the City.

Alisa’s work is created through collaboration with diverse participants, weaving together local stories and geographies through textiles, either through direct participatory workshops or collaboration through conversations and storytelling. Her practice lies in creating conversations and collective experiences in the public realm that playfully explore alternative forms of knowledge, opening possibilities for sustainable place-based ways of relating, making and being that bring us closer in communion with the urban land, the civic commons and the surrounding us intercultural and interspecies communities.

During the opening guitarist Lucy Gowen will be performing her classic guitar music as part of our Thursday Performance events, for Unwind in the City.

Private View: 18th July, 5 – 7pm
Exhibition running: 18th – 26th July
Opening times: Tues – Fri, 8am – 6pm (other times at request)
