Broadworks Friday Art Club: Upcycled Vases

June 7 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Broadwork’s third Friday Art club session – join us for an hour or two of peaceful art making in our inspiring workshop space and explore sustainability focused projects in your lunch hour and beyond.

Using various materials, you will get to design and decorate an upcycled vase, guided by glass artist and jeweller, Serean Williamson (of Kiln Jewels).

To make best use of already existing resources, the vases are created from discarded glass pieces, creating a beautiful mosaic effect. You will be able to use paints, extra pieces of glass and other materials to decorate your vase to your taste, creating a beautiful new piece to take home with you!

Serean Williamson is UK-based artist, who discovered fused glass while searching for ways to add colour to her jewellery. Her experimental and mainly self-taught kiln-formed glass making skills have been developed over several years, alongside silver and mixed media jewellery, in any time she could spare from her day job. Having also explored ceramics and printmaking among other crafts, she applies the techniques she has learnt to create unique, vibrant and functional pieces which will add a pop of colour to your outfit or home.
