New Crime & ASB Intelligence Service Launched

In partnership with the City of London Police, B4 Secure and the City Security Council we are supporting the trial of an additional, dedicated intelligence analysis service (provided by B4 Secure) to enhance the quality and quantity of information sharing between businesses and the police. Using open-source intelligence, police crime data and information from the private sector, this new service will provide regular, accurate and in-depth intelligence reports on major issues affecting the Square Mile such as protest activity, urban exploration (including ‘auditors’), the night-time economy and general crime trends.

The inaugural report into the City’s night-time economy is available here which we, and other local stakeholders, will use to design projects and initiatives to improve the night-time experience for our businesses and public. Some of this is already in place such us our Welfare Hub and the taxi marshalling scheme at Liverpool Street Station managed by the City Crime Prevention Association, and the report also includes advice that businesses may wish to share with staff.

Going forward these intelligence reports will be shared via CityIntel – the police’s notification platform for sending alerts to the business community on topics such as protest activity, road closures and security incidents. To register for these alerts please email henry@ecbid.co.uk
